Step-by-step itinerary
Adventure with zip line, horseback, and snorkel
- Zip line on 16 lines and 24 platforms
- Visit animal sanctuary and learn about wildlife
- Horseback ride on natural and mangrove trails
- Boat ride to reef for snorkeling
The experience
The day starts at the zip line course, where you work through 16 separate lines and jump off 24 platforms, crossing three suspension bridges along the way. After that comes the animal sanctuary, a guided stop where you learn about the sloths, capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws and parrots living there. Then you head to Hamilton Ranch for a safety briefing before mounting your horse. The ride takes you across natural trails and into the water, with stops for photos along the mangrove edges.
Once you're back on land, you board a van or bus for the short drive to West Bay. From there, a five-minute boat ride takes you out to the reef at West Bay Point. You enter the water with snorkeling gear provided and explore the coral, fish and the drop-off wall where the reef floor falls away. The whole sequence runs about four and a half hours from start to finish.
Air-conditioned transport moves you between each stop. Bottled water comes with you throughout. A live guide narrates in English or Spanish, and children from age three are welcome on the activity. The snorkeling equipment is included, so you arrive with nothing but your swimsuit and leave having done three separate things most travelers book separately.
What’s included
- Bottled water throughout the day.
- snorkeling equipment (mask, fins, snorkel).
- air-conditioned vehicle transport between stops.
- live guide in English or Spanish.
- pickup from your hotel or meeting point.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 17 years). Children under 3 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the snorkeling like at West Bay Point?
West Bay Point sits on a reef with a drop-off wall where the seabed falls away sharply. You'll see colorful coral, tropical fish and marine life moving around the reef structure and along the wall itself during a boat-based snorkel.
Do I need to know how to ride a horse?
No prior riding experience is required. Hamilton Ranch provides a safety briefing before you mount, and the trail mixes natural ground with water sections at a pace suited to mixed abilities.
How much time do I actually spend snorkeling?
The snorkel happens after the zip-line course and horseback ride, so it's the final activity of the half-day. The boat ride out is five minutes, and you spend time in the water exploring the reef and drop-off wall before returning to shore.
Is this suitable for someone who's never zip-lined before?
Yes. The course includes 16 separate lines and three suspension bridges, and you work through them as part of the guided experience. The activity is suitable for all physical fitness levels, though it's not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health.
What happens if I'm not confident in the water?
Snorkeling equipment is provided and you enter from a boat at West Bay Point. If you're uncomfortable snorkeling, you can stay on the boat or ask your guide about alternatives when you arrive.
