The Experience

The island's best coastline doesn't have a road. Sikia cave comes next, a limestone hollow with a hole punched through its roof, then the two-hour anchor at Kleftiko itself. The crew knows which caves are safe to swim into, which rock formations hide the best snorkeling, and they'll point you toward the underwater colors—reds, purples, yellows in the stone—that don't show from above. Lunch happens on board after you climb back up the ladder, cooked by the crew and served with wine and water, nothing fancy but real. After that the catamaran moves on to Gerakas with its hot spring running into the sea, then Firlingos with its rust-colored sand, then the abandoned sulphur mines where the rocks are sulfur-yellow and smell like it.
