The experience
You board a catamaran at Agia Kiriaki in the afternoon and sail south toward Kleftiko, the old pirate bay that anchors the whole trip. The water there is transparent enough to see the seafloor, and the site opens into sea caves you can explore while snorkeling. After you've spent time in the water, the crew serves lunch they've cooked on board, not a boxed sandwich, but something with real surprises. The snorkeling gear is included, so you arrive with nothing but a swimsuit.
From Kleftiko, the catamaran traces the west coast, passing the cave of Sykia with its collapsed ceiling, then stops at Kalogries beach for another swim. You'll pass Agios Ioannis, Triades and Agathia on the way. At Cape Vani, the boat turns to cross the bay, where Arkoudes (a cluster of lava rocks shaped like a bear) comes into view. The final stretch runs along the fishing villages of Skinopi, Klima, Areti and Fourkovouni, their colorful waterside houses called Sirmata catching the last light as the sun changes the sky.
The whole outing runs about six hours. Bring a passport. The operator needs your name, number, expiry and country before you board. Children from age 7 are welcome. If you need a vegetarian meal, mention it when you book. The route and timing can shift depending on weather and what the skipper decides is safest on the day.

Is this one for you?The afternoon departure suits a free half-day in Milos (you're back by evening), and the boat's pace is leisurely, with multiple swimming stops where you set how long to stay in the water. If you're new to snorkeling or prefer to ease into the day rather than start at dawn, this timing and the crew's guidance to the best spots work well.
