The experience
The boat leaves Adamantas port and sails 25 kilometers northwest to Cape Vani, a historically significant landscape shaped by abandoned manganese mining that started in 1898. The ground here is fine orange sand, and vertical rock formations in black and ruby layers rise from the water: locals call it "bacon" for the color. From there, the route moves to Kalogries beach, known for having the clearest sea in the region. Reaching it takes about an hour and fifteen minutes. Sykia, an open-top cave, comes next, followed by the main stop at Kleftiko, where white volcanic rocks eroded into dramatic formations frame crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkeling. This was a pirate hideout in centuries past.
The afternoon includes a stop at Theiorychia on the island's east side, where Greece's oldest sulfur mine operated, then continues to Poliegos, the largest uninhabited island in the area. The final swimming stop is Galazia Nera bay on Poliegos, known as the Blue Lagoon: a narrow inlet with steep white rocks, white sand and transparent light blue water. Snorkeling equipment, juices, bottled water, beer, local house wine and soft drinks are included throughout the day, as is lunch onboard.
The tour ends at Ilma Village on Milos, a small fishing settlement where houses were traditionally built with boat access directly in front. The nine-hour journey includes sailing time and all travel between stops.
