The experience

You start with a one-hour drive to Melissani Lake, a cave system that opens into turquoise water. A boat carries you into the cave itself, where sunlight filters through the opening above. After the lake, the route passes Myrtos Beach (a stop for photos of the dramatic coastline), before reaching Assos village, where colorful houses cling to a hillside overlooking the Ionian Sea and a Venetian fortress sits above the harbor.

The final stop is Fteri Beach, a quieter stretch of sand backed by steep cliffs. Getting there depends on a water taxi, which runs when wind conditions allow. If the sea is too rough, your driver will suggest an alternative site instead. The return journey takes about two hours, with your driver handling all the navigation and timing so the day fits together without gaps.

An English-speaking driver and air-conditioned vehicle are included. Melissani Lake has a separate entrance fee, and the water taxi to Fteri Beach is an additional cost per person if that stop operates. Pickup runs from three zones: Argostoli and Lassi, Skala and Kateleios, or Xi Beach.

The tour allocates one hour for the drive to Melissani Lake and the boat ride there. Assos village and the photo stop at Myrtos Beach take up the middle portion of the day. The return journey to your hotel takes about two hours, with the remaining time split among the stops and travel between them.

What happens if the water taxi to Fteri Beach doesn't operate?

Fteri Beach depends on a water taxi service that runs only in calm conditions. If wind or sea conditions prevent it from operating, your driver will cancel or reschedule that stop, or suggest an alternative beach site instead. You'll still visit Melissani Lake and Assos village as planned.

Which pickup location should I choose?

Pick the zone closest to your hotel: Argostoli and Lassi, Skala and Kateleios, or Xi Beach. Your driver will collect you from your accommodation within that area and return you there at the end of the day.
