The experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel and heads to Drogarati Cave, an underground chamber over 150 million years old filled with stalactites and stalagmites. The centerpiece is the Sala of Apotheosis, a vast chamber known for its acoustics where live performances have taken place. You walk the illuminated pathways at your own pace before moving on to the next stop.

Melissani Cave comes next, where you board a small boat across an underground lake surrounded by rock formations and greenery. The partially open roof lets sunlight hit the water and create shifting reflections on the cave walls. After that, you spend time at Myrtos Beach, a crescent of white pebbles and turquoise water backed by steep cliffs. You can swim or rest on the shore depending on the season and your preference. The guide then takes you through the village of Assos, where narrow streets lined with flowers lead down to a small harbor with fishing boats and waterfront tavernas, plus the ruins of a Venetian castle on the peninsula. The day ends in Fiskardo, on the northern tip of the island, where Venetian architecture survived the 1953 earthquake and colorful houses line the harbor alongside yachts and fishing boats.
