The experience

How do you see the island's main sights without arranging a rental car or navigating local buses? The tour starts with pickup from your hotel or cruise port and moves through six stops, each one a different piece of Kefalonia. You begin at St. Gerasimos Monastery, set in green hills and dedicated to the island's patron saint, then move to a local winery where you taste wines and learn how they're made. The driver is fluent in English and knows the history behind each stop.

The route then takes you underground into Drogarati Cave, where stalactites and stalagmites rise from the cave floor, and then to Melissani Lake, where sunlight filters through a natural opening in the roof above the water. Both are geological formations unique to the island. You'll stop in the harbor village of Agia Efimia to walk around and eat at one of the tavernas there, then finish with a photo stop at Myrtos Beach, one of Greece's most photographed coastlines. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and the driver handles all the routing between stops.

Bottled water and soda are provided, and USB chargers are available in the vehicle. The total time is 4–6 hours depending on how long you spend at each location and travel between them. Tickets to Drogarati Cave and Melissani Lake are not included in the tour price and are paid separately at each site.
