The Experience

The museum part is where the history actually lands. You're looking at Jens Lehmann's goalkeeper gloves — the ones he wore for every single league match during the unbeaten Invincibles season in 2003/04 — and then Michael Thomas' boots from Anfield '89, and Charlie George's FA Cup Final shirt from 1971. These aren't replicas or photos. They're the actual kit, donated by the players themselves. The museum has two video theatres and twenty major displays that walk you through Arsenal's story from 1886 onwards, so even if you're not a die-hard fan, you get why these objects matter. The whole thing takes a couple of hours if you move through steadily, longer if you linger.

One thing to know: the tour doesn't run on matchdays, and you can't use your ticket if there's a live game that day. So check the fixture list before you book. Last admission is an hour before closing, and occasionally the route gets disrupted if there's stadium maintenance happening. The audio guide comes in nine languages — English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese — and you get to keep the Arsenal-branded earphones. Children under 16 need an adult with them, and the stadium is accessible if you need it, though you should have a moderate level of fitness to get around comfortably.
