The Experience

The meeting point is under the large white arch at the Victoria & Albert Museum on Exhibition Road, not the Natural History Museum entrance itself — which is the first thing people get confused about when they arrive. Your guide will be holding a VoxCity flag, so you can't miss them once you know what you're looking for. Bring your own headphones and arrive five minutes early; the audio guide app downloads via QR code from your voucher, and it works in English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean or Spanish depending on what you need.

The 30-minute live tour covers the museum exterior and a brief introduction inside, then you're loose with the audio guide to move through the galleries at your own pace. The blue whale skeleton at Hintze Hall is the first major stop most people make — it's impossible to miss, and the audio track gives you the whole story of how it ended up there. After that, the Dinosaurs gallery is where most people spend time: you'll see the first T. rex skeleton ever discovered and a triceratops skull, with the audio guide walking you through what each fossil tells you about evolution and extinction.

The whole experience is wheelchair accessible, and you can bring a pram or stroller if you're traveling with small children. There's a cloakroom if you need to store a coat (£3) or umbrella (£2), though large bags and suitcases aren't really recommended because space is tight. The Natural History Museum itself is free to enter — this package includes your reserved entry, the guided introduction, the digital map, the audio guide app, and a donation to the museum. If there's a special exhibition you want to see, you can buy those tickets separately on the day.
