The experience

The day starts in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, where accessible trails wind through the misty forest floor. You'll hike in search of the plants, orchids and birds that live nowhere else, with a field guide pointing out what moves in the canopy and underbrush. The morning ends before the midday crowds arrive.

Lunch happens in Santa Elena Town, where you'll eat traditional Costa Rican food before heading to Sky Adventures Park. The hanging bridges let you walk above the treetops instead of below them, suspended in the dense forest with fresh air and sometimes clouds moving through the canopy around you. This is a different ecosystem entirely: the view from above changes what you see.

The night walk is the final shift. After dark, the forest wakes up differently. Animals that hide during the day emerge, and the guide uses the HD telescope to help you spot them in the beam. Eight hours total, with transport from your hotel included and a guide who speaks English or Spanish throughout.
