You’ll feel your heart race as you run off a hillside near Medellin for a paragliding flight above city rooftops and green mountains. A local pilot guides you through smooth glides and wild spins while you capture everything on a GoPro in full HD. Private transport keeps things easy from start to finish—leaving you free to soak up those sky-high views.
You know that weird flutter in your stomach when you’re just about to do something wild? That’s what I felt standing on the hillside outside Medellin, clutching the harness straps while our pilot, Andrés, grinned like he’d done this a thousand times (he probably has). The city was spread out below—Medellín’s patchwork of red roofs, green pockets, and those hazy mountains at the edge. I could smell rain on the breeze even though it wasn’t raining yet. Someone next to me was nervously laughing in Spanish—I caught maybe half of it.
The takeoff was nothing like I expected. One second we were running—awkwardly, because you’re strapped together—and then suddenly my feet weren’t touching anything. The wind just lifted us up. I could see all of Bello stretching out to the north and the whole valley curling around us. Andrés pointed out a football match happening way down below (tiny dots moving on green), then asked if I wanted to try some “vueltas.” I said yes before thinking it through. Those spins… wow. My heart was pounding so hard I almost forgot about the GoPro strapped to my wrist until he reminded me—“¡Graba todo!”
The flight itself only lasted about 15 minutes but honestly it felt longer—in a good way. There’s this weird calm up there, even with the adrenaline. The air smells different; cooler somehow, sharper than in the city. When we landed back on solid ground my legs were jelly and I couldn’t stop grinning like an idiot. They handed me my GoPro videos right away—full HD proof that yes, I did actually fly over Medellín (and scream a little bit). On the drive back into town I kept replaying bits in my head—the view, Andrés laughing when I tried to say “parapente” properly (I definitely didn’t).
Your day includes private air-conditioned transportation from Medellin, all paragliding equipment set up by experienced pilots, plus full HD GoPro videos and photos handed over right after landing so you can relive every moment—or show off online later.
