Paragliding in Medellín is a tandem flight where you and a certified pilot launch together, climb on thermal wind, and circle above the city and surrounding mountains for 15 minutes. Private transportation picks you up from your hotel, the paragliding equipment is provided, and you receive full HD GoPro footage and photos at the end. Children from age 10 are welcome. The activity is not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with cardiovascular concerns.

The experience

A driver picks you up in an air-conditioned vehicle and takes you to the launch site. Once there, you'll be fitted with a harness and helmet, then briefed on what to expect during the flight. The pilot handles all the technical work. You're strapped in beside them, feeling the wind and the lift as the paraglider catches thermals and climbs. The flight lasts 15 minutes, long enough to circle above Medellín, Bello, and the surrounding mountains while the city spreads below you in a full 360-degree view. If you want, you can ask the pilot to perform tricks in the air during the flight.

GoPro footage and still photos in full HD are recorded throughout the flight and handed over at the end, so you have footage to share on social media. The whole experience (transport, flight, and video) takes about three hours from pickup to drop-off.
