The experience

After that, the Incline Railway takes you down the escarpment. It's steep enough that you feel it in your knees, and the whole ride takes maybe five minutes. (Fair warning: it doesn't run November through April, so if you're going in winter, you'll skip this part.) Then comes Journey Behind the Falls, which is the part that actually justifies the tour. You descend 125 feet into tunnels carved into the rock, and the sound gets louder as you go deeper. The observation decks put you right at the base of the Horseshoe Falls, and the spray is real.
