The experience
I’ll admit, we almost missed our slot for the Skylon Tower. I’d lost track of time staring at some kid’s glowing shoes near the ticket line. Our guide, Sam, just grinned and waved us in anyway. The elevator ride up felt like stepping into a slow-motion movie. My ears popped and someone behind me whispered “wow” before we even reached the top. I pressed my forehead to the glass for a second longer than I meant to.
Back on ground level, we started walking along the edge where you can actually hear the water thudding below your feet.
