The experience
The day starts with a 100-mile drive through terrain most visitors to Belize never see: Mayan villages, farmland and the mountains that line the country's only highway. The road itself is the first part of the adventure, and it sets up what comes next: ziplining over the rainforest canopy at Jaguar Paw. You're harnessed and guided through the setup, then you move through the trees on a series of lines, each one taking you deeper into the forest.
After lunch, a full Belizean meal included, you hike 10 to 20 minutes to reach the cave entrance. The caves themselves are the centerpiece: you float through on a tube, drifting under limestone archways that have been carved over centuries. The formations are the real draw here, and so is the history. Your guide explains the rituals and ceremonies that made these caves sacred to the Maya. The water is calm enough that floating is the main event, not a white-knuckle ride.
The full day runs nine hours from pickup to return. A live guide leads the whole experience in English or Spanish, and the operator handles transport, gear, lunch and park entry. Nothing to arrange separately once you're picked up from your hotel.

Is this one for you?Nine hours is a full day commitment, so plan this as your main activity and keep the rest of your schedule light. The physical demands are moderate (ziplining and a short hike are the main exertion), so it suits most travelers in reasonable health, though the operator does not recommend it for anyone with spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns or pregnancy.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 11 years); Infant (under 6).
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How difficult is the ziplining if I've never done it before?
Ziplining at Jaguar Paw is set up for first-timers. The guide walks you through the harness and technique before you leave the ground. The lines move you over the canopy but the pace is controlled, not a speed event. Moderate fitness is needed for the day overall. The hike to the caves is 10 to 20 minutes and the tubing requires you to be comfortable in water.
What's the cave tubing actually like, is it dark and claustrophobic?
The caves have natural openings that let light in, so you're not in total darkness. You float on a tube rather than swim, which means you stay dry and can relax. The limestone archways are the visual draw. They're tall enough that you're not ducking or squeezing through tight spaces.
Is the 100-mile drive part of the activity or just getting there?
The scenic drive through Mayan villages, farmland and mountains is built into the day as its own part of the experience. It's the route to Jaguar Paw and it's also what shows you the landscape most tourists don't reach. You're not just driven there and forgotten about.
What do I need to bring or wear?
Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet and bring a change for after the caves. The operator provides all ziplining and tubing gear, helmets, and a guide. Bring sunscreen and a towel if you have one. Bottled water is included.
Can I do just the ziplining or just the caves, or is it the full package?
This is a combined full-day activity: ziplining, lunch, cave hike and tubing all together. The operator does not offer them separately on this listing.
