The experience
The route covers five separate cave systems in a single outing, each one navigable by kayak and each one part of Belize's geological and cultural history. You start with a 25-minute drive inland through an orange orchard, which gets you away from the coastal crowds and into the terrain where the caves open up. The kayaking itself is the core of the day: you're in the boat for the full route, paddling at a pace your guide sets and adjusts to the group's comfort.
Small groups, never large, mean you're not jostling for position or waiting for others to clear a passage. Your guide navigates the cave systems and handles the logistics of moving between them, so you focus on paddling and taking in the formations around you. The whole outing runs about nine hours from pickup to return, which includes the drive, the paddling, a lunch break and the return journey. All kayak equipment comes with you. You bring only yourself and a moderate fitness level to handle the paddling distance.
Lunch and bottled water are included, so you're not managing hunger or thirst during the day. Children from age 11 can join, though the activity isn't recommended for anyone with spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns or pregnancy. A minimum of two people per booking keeps the groups intimate and the experience unhurried.

Is this one for you?Book this if you want to paddle the full distance yourself rather than watch from a boat. You're operating the kayak the entire day, not being taken on a sightseeing route. The small-group format means your guide adjusts the pace to your comfort and you're not waiting for a large group to clear each passage.
Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (11 to 18 years). Children under 11 can't be included in the booking.
What are the five caves like when you paddle through them?
The caves are ancient limestone formations that have been carved by water over hundreds of years, creating passages wide enough for kayaks to move through. They're known as some of Belize's best natural attractions because of their scale and the geological detail visible as you paddle: stalactites, rock formations and the way the water moves through them. The route is designed so you experience the variety of each system rather than repeating the same passage.
How much paddling experience do I need?
You need at least a moderate level of physical fitness to handle the 7-mile distance, but no prior kayaking experience is required. The guide leads the pace and the route is navigable for people new to paddling. The fitness requirement is about stamina for the day rather than technical skill.
What happens during the 25-minute drive to the launch point?
You travel through an orange orchard to reach the drop-in point where the kayaking begins. This inland route takes you away from the coast and into the landscape where the cave systems are located, so the drive is part of getting to the right geography rather than wasted time.
Is the group size really small?
Yes, the operator specializes in small groups specifically to give each person an up-close experience with the caves and the guide's attention. You're not part of a large tour where people are competing for space or waiting for others to move through passages.
What's included and what do I need to bring?
All kayak equipment, bottled water, lunch and hotel pickup are included in the booking. You need to bring only yourself, wear clothes you don't mind getting wet, and have the fitness level to paddle the distance. Bring sunscreen and a hat if you have one.
