The experience
The day starts with a 30-minute hike through rainforest to the cave entrance. The terrain is mostly flat and shaded by the canopy, and your guide points out the flora and fauna as you wade through a few knee-deep water streams. Once you reach the cave, you'll get a safety briefing, put on a life jacket, and float on an inner tube through the underground river. Limestone formations hang overhead as the water carries you through the cave system.
After cave tubing, you move to the zipline course where trained guides handle the safety setup. You clip in and move between platforms suspended above the forest, seeing the canopy from a height you don't get on the ground. The guides stay in control of the technical side. You focus on the ride and the view. The full experience runs about 8 hours from start to finish.
Transportation from Placencia, entrance fees to both sites, a helmet and life jacket, and soft drinks and juice throughout the day are all included. The experience is shared with up to 14 other travelers, so you're never alone but the group stays small enough to move at a steady pace.
What’s included
