4h–5h

Step-by-step itinerary

  • Hike through Arikok and Sero Arikok

  • Visit Moro Beach and dune area
  • Explore Seagrape Forest
  • Visit Daimari Beach and ranch

The Experience

The hike through Arikok National Park covers 3.9 miles to Conchi, then continues another stretch to Moro Beach, the dunes, and Daimari Beach—11.5 miles total by the end of the day. You start at the Arikok Visitor Center with a short museum tour where the guide walks you through the park's history, flora, and fauna before you lace up. That context matters; you're not just walking, you're reading the landscape as you go. The trail passes Sero Arikok, crosses dune areas, and winds through the Seagrape Forest, a rare coastal grove that looks almost out of place against Aruba's scrubby terrain.

Conchi—also called the Natural Pool or "Cura di Tortuga" by locals—is where the ocean and volcanic rock have spent thousands of years carving a small circle of calm water. You snorkel there, and the equipment is provided. The water is clear enough that you see the rock formation from below, and the pool stays protected even when the ocean outside it's rough. After Conchi, the route takes you to Moro Beach, where a rock formation happens to look like Aruba's map if you stand in the right spot, then through the dunes and finally to Daimari Beach, where sea grape trees and a coconut farm line the shore. Your pickup waits at the hill when you're done.

If you book the private tour, lunch happens at Don Jacinto, a local restaurant known for South American food. The meal is two courses—soup and a main dish—with a drink included. It's not a tourist spot; it's where people from the area eat. You return to the visitor center after the hike, rest for a bit, then the guide takes you to the restaurant. After lunch, they drive you back to your hotel. The group tour doesn't include the restaurant stop or the return transport; you arrange your own way back from the final beach.

The private option is worth it if you'd rather not arrange your own lunch and transport back to your hotel after a long hike.
