Arikok National Park Jeep Safari: Natural Pool & Caves
Rough trails, limestone caves with thousand-year-old rock drawings, and a natural pool carved into the coastline.
A guided jeep safari through Arikok National Park in Aruba with three route options—a full morning tour (4 hours), a shorter midday coastal route (2 hours), or an afternoon park loop (3.5 hours)—each visiting caves with Caiquetio rock art, the Natural Pool for swimming and snorkeling, and dramatic northern beaches. Local guide in English, Spanish or Dutch; park entry, snorkel gear, water and a pastechi breakfast (morning tour only) included.
Step-by-step itinerary
Explore Arikok National Park by Jeep

- Visit Fontein Cave and Quadirikiri Cave
- See ancient Arawak rock drawings
- Enjoy wild fish pedicure
- Visit Natural Pool for swimming and snorkeling
- Cliff jumping at Natural Pool (conditions permitting)
- Visit Dos Playa Beach for coastal views
- Visit Boca Prins beach (non-swimming, photo stop)
- Beach walk at Dos Playa Beach
The Experience
The three routes let you choose the pace and the hour. The morning safari runs the full circuit: start with a local pastechi, then head into Arikok on rough off-road trails to the Natural Pool (Conchi), where you swim, snorkel, or cliff jump if conditions allow. The midday route sticks to the smoother coastal drive, visiting Fontein Cave and Quadirikiri Cave before stopping at Boca Prins for photos—no rough terrain, no swimming. The afternoon option splits the difference: fewer crowds on the park trails, the same caves and the Natural Pool without the early start.
Every route passes through Fontein Cave and Quadirikiri Cave, where your guide walks you through limestone passages and shows you Caiquetio rock drawings from over a thousand years ago. At Fontein, there's a freshwater pond where fish nibble your feet—a wild pedicure the guide arranges. The morning and afternoon tours also reach Dos Playa, a dramatic northern beach with white sand and strong waves; it's for walking and photos, not swimming. The Natural Pool itself only opens when park rangers say the water is calm enough, and you need water shoes for the rocky entry.
A local guide leads the whole day in your choice of English, Spanish or Dutch. Bottled water, snorkel mask and fins, and all park fees come with the ticket. The jeep holds a small group, and the ride is bumpy on the off-road sections—good walking shoes help at the caves, and the morning tour's rough trails aren't suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or serious heart conditions. Children from age 4 are welcome; no infant seats are available.

What's the difference between the morning, midday and afternoon routes?
The morning tour (4 hours) covers the full park—Natural Pool, both caves, Dos Playa beach and a pastechi breakfast—on rough off-road trails. The midday route (2 hours) takes a smoother coastal drive to the caves and Boca Prins only, skipping the Natural Pool and rough terrain. The afternoon tour (3.5 hours) visits the caves, Natural Pool and Dos Playa on park trails with fewer crowds than the morning, but no breakfast.
Can I swim at the Natural Pool, or is it just for looking?
The Natural Pool is open for swimming, snorkeling and cliff jumping when park rangers say the water is calm enough. On rough days the rangers close it, so the guide will let you know once you arrive. Wear water shoes—the entry is rocky. Snorkel gear is included.
What are the rock drawings in the caves?
Fontein Cave and Quadirikiri Cave both hold limestone passages with Caiquetio rock art from over 1,000 years ago. The guide walks you through and points out the best spots to see them and take photos. Quadirikiri has two sunholes that light up the limestone walls.
Is this tour rough on the body?
The morning and afternoon routes use rough off-road trails inside the park, so the ride is bumpy. The midday route follows a smoother coastal drive. The morning tour isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy or poor cardiovascular health. All routes involve walking through caves and on beaches; good walking shoes are essential.
What's included in the price?
Park entry, snorkel mask and fins, bottled water, and all fees and taxes are included. The morning tour adds a local pastechi breakfast. A live guide in English, Spanish or Dutch leads the group. Gratuities are not included.
Do I need to arrange my own transportation to the tour?
Pickup is included in at least one of the four tour options; check which route you choose at checkout. Public transportation is available nearby if you prefer to meet the group at the park entrance.
