Aruba UTV Jeep Driving Adventure: Arikok Park Blackstone Beach
You drive both the UTV and the Jeep through Aruba's backcountry and water stops
A four-hour UTV and Jeep driving adventure in Aruba where you take the wheel of both vehicles through Arikok National Park and across the island's outback. You swim at the Natural Pool, pass the Ayo rock formations and Blackstone Beach, walk through the Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins, and cross the Twin Bridges. The activity includes park entry, snorkelling equipment and bottled water; a guide leads the route in English and pickup from your hotel is arranged.
Step-by-step itinerary
Jeep and UTV adventure in Aruba
- Drive Jeep to Arikok National Park
- Swim in the Natural Pool
- Ride UTV past Ayo Rock Formations
- Visit Blackstone Beach
- See Twin Bridges natural formations
- Explore Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins
The Experience
You start from your hotel with a guide who drives you to the trailhead in a Jeep, then hands you the keys to a UTV for the outback section. The mix of vehicles lets you reach both the interior park roads and the rougher terrain where the rock formations and beach sit. Arikok National Park is where the Jeep takes you first—you'll drive through it to reach the Natural Pool, a freshwater swimming hole that sits inland and draws fewer crowds than the resort beaches. Snorkelling gear is in the vehicle, and the water is clear enough to see the bottom.
Once you're behind the UTV wheel, the route passes the Ayo rock formations—massive boulders scattered across the landscape—and continues to Blackstone Beach, where the sand is dark volcanic rock. You'll also cross the Twin Bridges, two natural stone formations that span small gullies. The Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins come next; they're the remains of a 19th-century gold-processing operation, and the guide walks you through what the rush looked like and why it ended. The terrain is uneven and the pace is steady, so moderate fitness helps, and the remaining time covers the drive between stops.
Bottled water is provided throughout, and you can buy goggles or a dust mask at checkout if the sun and wind bother you during the UTV stretches. The guide handles navigation and the history; you handle the driving. Four hours total means you're back before lunch or early enough for an afternoon at the beach afterward.

What's the Natural Pool like, and do I actually get to swim there?
The Natural Pool is a freshwater swimming hole inside Arikok National Park, fed by underground springs and surrounded by rock walls. You reach it by Jeep and have time to swim; snorkelling equipment is included if you want to see what's below the surface.
Do I need off-road driving experience to handle the UTV?
No prior UTV experience is required. The guide leads the route and you follow; the terrain is rough but the pace is manageable for anyone with moderate fitness. The guide will brief you on the vehicle before you start.
What are the Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins, and how long do we spend there?
The Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins are the remains of a 19th-century gold-processing mill from Aruba's gold rush era. You'll walk through the site with the guide, who explains the history and what mining looked like on the island during that period.
Is the four-hour duration the whole experience, or does it not include travel time?
The four hours includes travel time between stops. The remaining time after swimming and walking the attractions covers the Jeep and UTV driving that connects each location.
What's included in the price, and what costs extra?
Park entry, snorkelling equipment, bottled water and both vehicle rides are included. Goggles and dust masks are available to purchase at checkout for $15 and $5 respectively if you want them for the UTV sections.
How does pickup work if I'm staying at a resort or villa?
The guide picks you up from your hotel and drives you to the starting point in the Jeep. You'll return to the same pickup location at the end of the four hours.
