The Experience

Most snorkeling tours stick to the reef. This one takes you to both the Kappel Shipwreck and the coral gardens around Mangel Halto, which means you're not just seeing fish — you're seeing where they live and what they've claimed. The difference matters. You start at the PADI dive center right at the beach, where an instructor walks you through the gear, hand signals, and which fish are which (parrotfish, angelfish, triggerfish, the whole cast). The water here is shallow and calm, so whether you've snorkeled before or never have, you're not fighting current or depth.

The boat takes you out for about an hour in the water. You'll move between the shipwreck — old enough to be covered in coral now — and the surrounding reef, where the biodiversity is real: hermit crabs, sea stars, octopus if you're lucky, and enough colorful fish that you'll stop trying to name them after the first five minutes. The water is clear enough that you see the bottom without strain, and the guides stay close, pointing out things you'd miss on your own. Mangel Halto is a local beach, not a cruise-ship stop, so the vibe is different — less crowded, more lived-in.

After you come back to the dive center, there are showers and restrooms to rinse off. Private transportation is included, so you don't have to figure out how to get there or back, which saves the mental load on a travel day. The whole thing runs in a morning, leaving your afternoon open.

What’s included

Your day includes private transportation to and from Mangel Halto, full snorkeling equipment (mask, fins, snorkel), a PADI briefing on gear and hand signals, one hour in the water exploring the Kappel Shipwreck and the reef, and access to showers and restrooms at the dive center.
