The Experience

Hotel or cruise ship pickup gets you to Varadero Marina, where you board the sailboat and head out into Aruba's waters. The sail itself is part of the day—you glide past Spanish Lagoon and Flamingo Island on the way to Mangel Halto Reef, where the snorkeling happens. The reef sits in shallow water with coral gardens and the marine life that lives in them; you get the snorkeling equipment and spend time in the water exploring it.

After the reef, the boat sails back along the shoreline toward Varadero Marina. The crew serves BBQ lunch if you booked the morning sail, or BBQ dinner if you chose the afternoon one. An open bar runs the whole time—alcoholic drinks for adults 18 and up, non-alcoholic for younger travelers. Vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free options are available if you ask when you book.

The guide speaks English or Spanish and is there the whole time. The 4-hour window covers the sail out, the snorkeling stop, the meal and the return. Infants can come along in a stroller or pram and sit on an adult's lap during the sail; service animals are allowed.
