The experience

My Son Sanctuary opens the day: dozens of red brick towers and sanctuaries built between the 7th and 13th centuries, set in a valley that has held them for a thousand years. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former religious center of the Champa Kingdom, so the temples carry weight that photographs alone do not convey. After exploring the ruins on foot, you'll eat lunch at a local restaurant before the afternoon leg begins.

The Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son, meaning "Five Elements Mountains") come next. You'll ride an elevator partway up, then walk through natural caves, including Am Phu Cave, where a replica of "Heaven and Hell" sits in the stone, and you can listen for the echo of bats' wings. The Linh Ung Pagoda is built into the mountainside here, designated a national historical and cultural site, and the summit offers panoramic views across Da Nang and the coast. A sculpting village sits nearby, and the caves themselves are the main event.

The tour ends at Son Tra Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula: Da Nang's largest pagoda, known for its architectural scale and quiet atmosphere. The full day runs about nine and a half hours from pickup to drop-off, with your guide handling the route and the transitions between sites.
