The experience

The tour leaves at 8:30am on day one and covers the loop's most photographed stretches (Quan Ba, Yen Minh, and Dong Van) with stops at Can Ty panorama and views across the terraced valleys of Lao Va Chai. You ride as a passenger on the back of a motorbike driven by someone from the area, which means you can film and photograph without managing the road. Lunch happens in Tam Son town around midday, and the total riding time that first day is roughly 3.5 hours of actual driving, spread across the full day with rest stops built in. By evening you reach Dong Van and stay in a homestay dorm room with dinner cooked there.

Day two focuses on Ma Pi Leng Pass, the most famous pass in Ha Giang. The route covers about 150 kilometers with roughly five hours of riding time, including an hour for lunch and an hour to stand at the pass itself and take in the panoramic view down into Tu San alley. The tour ends around 5pm back in Ha Giang City.
