The experience
The Ha Giang Loop is a circuit of mountain passes and ethnic villages in the far north, and this tour covers it over three days without the rush. You pick up in Ha Giang City and ride through Bac Sum Pass to Quan Ba Heaven's Gate, where the road climbs to a cafe at the top and a viewpoint of the Twin Mountains below. From there you drop into Lung Tam Village, a traditional weaving settlement where H'Mong artisans still work brocade by hand, then continue through valleys and Tay stilt-house villages to Du Gia Waterfall: a cold, clear pool fed from the forest where you can swim after hours on the bike. That night you stay in a local's house and eat Tay cuisine with Ngo wine, the drink locals call "Happy Water."
Day two takes you through Mau Due's terraced rice fields and the M-shaped bend to the Happiness Road, then onto a river cruise on the Nho Que to see the Tu San gorge, the highest limestone canyon in Southeast Asia. After the cruise you climb Ma Pi Leng Pass (one of the most dangerous stretches on the loop), and stop at the monument to walk and photograph the panorama before dropping into Dong Van. The evening is yours to explore the Old Quarter on foot, eat street food, and join the locals dancing and singing in the square.
The final day heads south through Sung La Valley and its oldest H'Mong villages, then over Chin Khoanh Pass and Tham Ma slope (both UNESCO Dong Van Karst Plateau sites) stopping for coffee and photos. You pass through Yen Minh and Can Ty slope to see the Co Don Tree and Van Chai Rock, visit Thai An Waterfall, and end at a miniature Tu San alley in Cat Ly before returning to Ha Giang City. The tour includes a helmet and raincoat, all entrance fees, every meal, water, and fuel. Your guide is an experienced local rider who speaks English and knows the road.
What’s included

What does the Nho Que River cruise show you on day two?
The Nho Que River cruise takes you through the Tu San gorge, the highest limestone canyon in Southeast Asia, a natural formation found only in Ha Giang. The water is calm and the walls rise steep on both sides, giving you a view from the river level that you cannot get from the passes above.

What is the Quan Ba Heaven's Gate viewpoint like?
Quan Ba Heaven's Gate is a mountain pass where the road climbs to a cafe at the top. From there you can see the Twin Mountains, two peaks standing close together below, and stop at a viewpoint halfway down the pass to climb stairs and photograph them. The scenery opens up across the rocky plateau from this height.
What choice do you have for how to ride?
You can ride behind a friend if you bring a companion, ride with an Easy Rider driver, or self-drive your own motorbike. The tour price and inclusions stay the same across all three options. You choose which one suits you at checkout.

All breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included throughout the tour.
