The experience

From the top, the descent is its own event. Four separate rappels bring you back down, with the centerpiece a 165-foot drop straight into a narrow white rock slot canyon: the kind of vertical drop that feels impossible until you're in it. Between rappels, you move through the mini canyons on foot, scrambling over boulders and through passages carved by water, which is where the "canyoneering" part happens. The whole descent takes you through terrain most visitors to the area never see.

The activity runs 4.5 hours total. An experienced guide leads all three climbing pitches and manages the rappels, so you're not figuring out the route or the safety systems yourself. All canyoneering and rappelling equipment is provided, along with bottled water. The operation runs on private land, which is why the via ferrata exists at all. You're not sharing the rock face with other groups or waiting for access. Being on time matters: departures are firm, and arrivals more than 15 minutes late will be left behind.
