The experience

The Newton Dive Special boat leaves from the ocean side of Key Largo, which means you skip the long transit through the mangroves and get straight to the wrecks. You'll make two dives on either the USS Spiegel Grove or the USCG Duane: both teeming with barracuda, sharks, moray eels and lobsters wedged into the structure. After the first dive and a surface interval, you descend again with your group guide leading both dives. Tanks, Nitrox and weights are all provided. You bring your own dive computer, dive light and surface signaling device.

The boat has an on-board restroom and two hot water showers, so you can rinse off between dives. Photographers get a dedicated two-level camera table and a separate rinse bucket for gear and lights. Rental cameras are available if you want one. Drinking water and snacks are included, and a cooler of ice is on board for your own sports drinks or food. The extra-long ladder makes getting back out of the water straightforward after each dive.
