The experience
You start with a market tour: roughly 30 to 45 minutes walking through a Thai market where your teacher points out the herbs, vegetables and spices that go into the dishes you'll cook. This is not a shopping trip. It's a lesson in what makes Thai food work. You'll see what fresh galangal looks like, understand why certain pastes matter, and learn which greens and aromatics show up in nearly every dish. After the market, you head to the cooking school's open kitchen, set in a tropical garden on the property.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and you'll have a certified Thai teacher guiding you through either three or five dishes depending on which option you choose. The 3-dish class runs about two hours of cooking. The 5-dish class takes longer and covers more ground. You're working with real ingredients, not pre-prepped components, so you learn how to make curry paste, how to balance heat and acid, how to time multiple dishes so they finish together. The teacher keeps the group small by design: a maximum of four students means you get real attention and can ask questions without holding anyone back. After you finish cooking, you sit down and eat what you've made, tasting the results of your own work.
Hotel pickup is included from the south of Karon Beach. If you're staying elsewhere in Phuket, extra transfer charges apply depending on your location.
