The experience

The boat leaves Krabi Town or Ao Nang in the morning and heads to Yawasom Island first, where you snorkel among colorful fish and coral reefs. Chicken Island comes next: another popular reef site with abundant marine life. The route then swings toward Tup Island, a three-island cluster connected by a sandbank that appears only at low tide. You walk across it and swim in the shallow waters between Tup and Moh Island before moving on to Taming Island for more snorkeling and time to relax on the white sand beach.

As the sun sets, the boat anchors at Poda Island for a buffet dinner and drinks while you watch the light fade over the Andaman Sea. Once darkness falls, the real draw begins: night snorkeling at Koh Raeng, where the water fills with bioluminescent plankton that glow when disturbed. You slip back into the water with a guide and watch the plankton light up around you. A phenomenon that only happens after dark and only at certain times of year.

The tour runs seven to eight hours total. Snorkeling equipment, life jacket, fruits, soft drinks, Thai snacks and accident insurance are all provided. An English-speaking guide leads the group throughout the day. Hotel transfers from Krabi Town and Ao Nang are included in the price. If you're staying at Railay Beach or Tonsai Beach, you'll meet the boat at Railay West Beach in front of Railay Village Resort. Note that the national park entrance fee (200 baht per adult, 100 baht per child) is paid separately at the pier.
