The experience
Six hours on the water means you move between islands without the rush. The boat is a traditional longtail, the kind that lets you feel the sea rather than sit behind glass. You board at your hotel in Ao Nang, Klong Muang, or Krabi Town and head straight out. The crew speaks English and knows the islands well enough to read the tides and the weather, adjusting the route if conditions shift.
Phra Nang Cave Beach comes first, a limestone-backed crescent where you swim and explore the sacred cave set back from the sand. Tup Island is the stop most travelers come for: a natural sandbar emerges at low tide, a strip of sand connecting Tup to Chicken Island that exists only a few hours a day. You walk it, photograph it, and snorkel the clear water on either side. Chicken Island takes its name from a rock formation that juts from the water. The snorkeling here is where you see the most color: small reef fish, anemones, and the occasional larger grouper. Poda Island, the last stop, is where lunch happens: grilled fish, rice, fresh fruit, and vegetables served in a quiet spot on the beach while you have time to swim or rest.
Snorkeling gear and a life jacket are provided. The water is warm and clear, but shallow enough that you can stand in most places. This is not a deep-reef dive. The pace is built for people who want to be in the water without feeling hurried, and the guide will point out what to look for without pushing you into the boat before you're ready.

Is this one for you?The boat moves at a relaxed pace with time to swim and explore at each island, so you set how long you stay in the water at each stop. A traditional longtail is slower and more open than a speedboat, which means the ride itself is part of the experience rather than a means to get there faster.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Thai.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years); Infant (1 to 3 years): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the natural sandbar at Tup Island and when can you walk it?
Tup Island is connected to Chicken Island by a strip of sand that appears only at low tide, creating a natural pathway between the two islands. The tour times the visit to catch this phenomenon, letting you walk across and photograph the unique formation while the water on either side remains deep enough to snorkel.
What kind of snorkeling can I expect in the water around these islands?
The snorkeling is light and shallow, with clear water where you can see small reef fish, anemones, and occasional larger fish like grouper. You can stand in most places, so it suits swimmers of all levels and does not require diving experience.
Does the tour include lunch, and what is served?
Lunch is included and served on Poda Island. The meal typically consists of grilled fish, rice, fresh fruit, and vegetables, eaten in a quiet beach setting with time to swim or rest afterward.
How does the tour handle changes in weather or sea conditions?
The tour program may be adjusted without prior notice depending on sea and weather conditions. The English-speaking guide and crew monitor conditions throughout the day and will modify the route or timing of stops to keep the experience safe and enjoyable.
What is included in the tour price, and what do I need to bring?
Snorkeling equipment, life jacket, lunch, hotel pickup, English-speaking guide, and travel insurance are all included. You do not need to bring your own gear. Gratuities for the crew are not included and are paid in cash at the meeting point.
