Explore 4 islands by longtail boat
- Visit Tub Island via sandbank
- Snorkel at Chicken Island coral reefs
- Enjoy buffet lunch on Poda Island
- Visit limestone cliffs peninsula
- Discover Pranang Cave and beach
The experience
The longtail boat (a wooden fishing vessel built to local design) departs with a small group and a live English-speaking guide. You visit Tup Island first, where three smaller islands connect by sandbank at low tide, a rare arrangement that opens up shallow water and rock formations to explore on foot. From there the boat moves to Chicken Island, the main snorkeling stop, where the coral reef holds abundant marine life. You enter the water with mask and snorkel provided, and the guide stays in the water with the group.
Lunch is a buffet served on Poda Island, where you have time to swim and rest before the boat heads to Pranang Cave, a limestone peninsula accessible only by water. The cave itself holds a spirit house worshipped by locals, and the surrounding cliffs draw rock climbers. The beach here is open for swimming. The final stop is the limestone formations and cave system, which you can enter and explore. Throughout the day you wear a provided life jacket when moving between islands, and the guide carries a first aid kit.
Hotel pickup is included for guests staying in the Ao Nang area. Other locations incur a small transfer charge. The tour runs six to seven hours total. A national park fee of 200 baht per adult and 100 baht per child is payable at the point of entry and is not included in the booking price.
