The experience
The day starts at the jungle base camp on the Nathon side of the island, where you gear up with a helmet and safety briefing before heading into the mountain interior. The trails climb higher and wilder as you go deeper, cutting through dense tropical jungle and hidden paths only the guides know. You're on an automatic ATV (no license or experience needed), and the pace lets you soak in each location without rushing. The ride takes you past lush fruit farms and through terrain that gets steeper the closer you get to the island's highest points.
Three stops break up the ride and anchor the day. At the Secret Waterfall, you swim and cool off in the jungle. Teepangkorn Temple sits at the highest point where the guides take you, and the Magic Buddha Garden nearby holds ancient stone figures rising from the forest floor. Each stop is built into the route, not tacked on: the trails themselves pass through these places. After the riding ends, you head to Sora Sierra restaurant for a Thai lunch with views across the Gulf of Thailand, still muddy from the trails.
Hotel transfers happen in a 4x4 safari truck and cover the whole island, including mountain villas. The truck picks you up about an hour before your tour time and brings you back to your hotel after lunch. Photos and videos from your ride get sent to you via WhatsApp after the tour. A cold towel and bottled water wait at base camp when you finish, and you can store valuables in a locker while you ride. The activity runs rain or shine (mud is part of it), though severe weather that affects safety triggers a reschedule or full refund.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Thai.
Can I ride an ATV in Koh Samui if I've never done it before?
Yes. The ATV is automatic, so no license or experience is required. You get a full safety briefing at the jungle base camp before you start, and the guides lead the way on trails they know.
What happens at the Secret Waterfall during the ride?
The Secret Waterfall is a swim stop built into the jungle route. You cool off in the water during the 4-hour ride, so bring swimwear and a towel.
Does the 4-hour ride include the hotel pickup and lunch?
The 4-hour duration is the riding time only. Hotel pickup happens about an hour before your tour starts, and lunch at Sora Sierra comes after the ride ends, so plan for a longer day overall.
What's included in the price for both the solo driver and passenger options?
Both options include the helmet and safety gear, entrance to the Magic Buddha Garden and Teepangkorn Temple, the Secret Waterfall swim, hotel transfers, Thai lunch, photos via WhatsApp, and basic insurance. The difference is whether you ride alone on one ATV or share one ATV with another person.
Can children ride ATVs in Koh Samui, or do they have to sit with an adult?
Children 12 and older can drive an ATV if they're confident and capable. Children 4 to 11 can join as passengers on an ATV with an adult. Children under 4 are not permitted. All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the tour.
What should I bring for the temple and garden stops?
Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking around Teepangkorn Temple and the Magic Buddha Garden. Sunglasses, face masks, goggles, and raincoats are available free at the base camp if you need them.
