The Experience
You get picked up from your hotel and driven to Nathon pier, where you board a big boat with light breakfast waiting. The crossing to Angthong takes you into a protected marine park of limestone islands and hidden coves. Your first stop is Wua Ta Lap Island: you climb roughly 500 meters uphill to a viewpoint 262 meters above sea level, where the panorama opens to all 42 islands scattered across the park — the walk is the payoff for the climb.
From there the boat takes you to Lotus Cave, where you walk through chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites shaped like lotus flowers. After exploring, you can swim and snorkel in the water near the cave entrance. Lunch — a Thai buffet with fresh fruit — is served back on the boat. The afternoon brings you to Talay Nai, a lagoon with emerald-green water where you follow steps down into the shallows to snorkel, swim or sunbathe on the sand. The boat also passes Mae Ko Island for sightseeing before heading back to Nathon pier around 5pm and returning you to your hotel.
Snorkeling gear, dry bags and a life jacket are provided; your guide speaks English and stays with the group throughout the day. The boat is large enough to handle the crossing comfortably, and the schedule leaves time at each stop without rushing. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks are available on the return journey.
