The experience

The day starts in Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, where you walk through the forest with a guide and watch the Zanzibar red colobus monkeys in their natural habitat. The guide explains the plants and wildlife around you and how the forest is being protected. It's a quiet stretch of the morning, and the monkeys move through the canopy above the path.

From there you move to a traditional spice farm, where a guide walks you through rows of locally grown spices and tropical plants. You learn how each crop is cultivated and harvested, and how these spices shape Zanzibar's cooking and daily life. The farm visit ends with a Swahili spice lunch included in the tour.

The afternoon takes you into Stone Town on foot.
