You knead the dough, shape it, bake it, and eat it the same afternoon.

A hands-on pizza and focaccia class in Italy where you learn to work with a 7-year-old sourdough starter, make tiramisu from a family recipe, and eat all three courses with curated Piemonte wines included. The class runs 3 hours and welcomes children from age 6. Dietary restrictions are accommodated with advance notice.

The experience

The class starts with an aperitivo, then moves straight into the dough. You'll work with the family's 7-year-old Lievito Madre sourdough starter (the same one they've been feeding for years) learning how to knead, shape and proof pizza and focaccia. The starter creates the soft, airy interior and crispy crust that makes the difference between homemade bread and the rest. You'll see how different fillings work, taste the technique as you go, and pull your own pieces out of the oven.

After the pizza and focaccia, you make tiramisu using the family's grandmother's recipe: fresh farm eggs, mascarpone, coffee. It's the same method they've used for generations, and you take home a piece of the sourdough starter so you can keep baking after you leave. The wines are organic and carefully chosen from Piemonte (Nebbiolo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc), and regional Swiss bottles, all included with the meal. Everything you make, you eat. There are no hidden charges for the food or drinks.

The class is hands-on, so come ready to work. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary needs are handled if you mention them when you book. Children from age 6 can join, and the space is wheelchair accessible with public transport nearby.
