The experience
The tour starts with a boat cruise along St Lucia's coastline toward Soufriere, where the Pitons come into view across the water. On the way, you stop at Sugar Beach to swim or snorkel, then continue to Sulphur Springs Park. From there, a 10-minute walk brings you to Toraille Waterfall, where you can stand under the cascading water for a natural massage.
Lunch follows at a local restaurant serving St Lucian cuisine. The return voyage by sea is when the snorkeling happens. You'll be in the turquoise water with gear provided, and the boat passes Lover's Rock, where locals dive from the top. On the final stretch back, you'll see a live bat cave. The bats are audible as well as visible. The whole outing runs about five hours and includes a licensed English-speaking guide, all drinks and snacks, and entry fees.

What are the Pitons and why do people come to see them from the water?
The Pitons are two dramatic volcanic peaks that rise from the sea near Soufriere and are St Lucia's most recognizable landmark. Viewing them from the boat as you cruise toward Soufriere is the opening moment of the tour, and they frame the approach to the island's southern coast.
