The Experience

We climbed aboard the Israel King II just after breakfast—still sticky from sunscreen and half-awake. The captain, Marcus, grinned as he untied us from Rodney Bay Marina, shouting something to a friend onshore I couldn’t quite catch. The engine started up and suddenly we were skimming along the west coast of St Lucia, salt spray hitting my lips.
