The Experience

You arrive at Castries cruise port or your hotel, and the crew picks you up and brings you aboard the Wild Dreams. The boat heads south toward Soufriere, passing the fishing villages of Anse La Raye and Canaries along the west coast, then the twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton come into view. The captain gives a running account of what you're seeing as the boat moves through the water.

Once you reach Anse Chastanet's marine reserve, you put on the snorkel gear the boat provides and slip into the water to explore the reef. The corals here are healthy and dense, and the tropical fish move through them in schools. You'll see sea turtles if the conditions and timing align. A second snorkel stop may happen on the way back, depending on how much time the day has left. Between water time, the boat cruises Marigot Bay so you can see the anchorage and its history from the water.

The optional land excursions are yours to choose. Sulphur Springs is a drive-in volcano where you wade into warm natural mud pools ($10 per person, arranged separately); Toraille Waterfall sits in the rainforest above Soufriere and lets you swim in fresh water ($3 per person). Lunch is on your own at a restaurant the crew can recommend or you can pick. Beverages aboard include water, soft drinks, rum punch, and local beer. A $30 fuel surcharge is payable on the day of the tour.
