The Experience

You start with a 7:30 am briefing at your hotel or port, then ride in a safari-style 4-wheel-drive vehicle through Castries city center toward the west coast. The first stop is a local farmer's stand where you sample fresh tropical fruit, then a 15-minute hike down to River Pool Waterfall near Anse La Raye—a working fishing village where the road narrows and the pace slows. By mid-morning you reach the viewing point above the Pitons for photos, and the landscape shifts from green hillside to volcanic terrain.

The centerpiece is Sulphur Springs, the world's only drive-in volcano. You drive down into the crater itself and step out to wade into warm mud baths fed by mineral springs; the mud is gray-brown and thick, heated by geothermal activity beneath the surface. This is not a spa treatment—it is a geological oddity you can physically enter. After soaking and rinsing off in the mineral pools, you have time to walk around and absorb the otherworldly landscape of the crater floor.

Lunch follows at a local restaurant where you eat a buffet of island cuisine; vegetarian options are available if you request them at booking.
