The experience
Four to six hours means the length depends on where you're staying: hotel pickups in the north take longer than port pickups in Castries. The tour opens with a nature hike to Tet Paul, a viewpoint overlooking the pitons, the two volcanic peaks that define the island's skyline. From there you drive to Sulphur Springs Park, where a local guide walks you through the world's only drive-through volcano. You stay in the vehicle while the guide explains the geology and the sulfur vents below. The route then heads to Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, where you walk a trail through the gardens that ends at a waterfall.
All entrance fees are built into the price, so there are no surprises at each stop. The guide speaks English and travels with the group the whole way. An air-conditioned vehicle means the driving stretches between sites stay comfortable, which matters on an island where the heat builds through the morning. Hotel pickups and drop-offs are included, as is port pickup for cruise passengers, though cruise travelers need to provide ship details, docking time and re-boarding time when booking, since the tour timing has to fit the ship's schedule.
This tour has no water activities, so swimsuits and towels aren't needed. The nature hike to Tet Paul and the walk through the botanical gardens both involve stairs and uneven ground. The volcano tour happens from inside the vehicle. A minimum of two people per booking is required.
