St. Lucia Horseback Riding & Zip Lining: rainforest to beach
You gallop along the Atlantic beach on horseback, then clip into a harness 12 lines above the canopy.
This St. Lucia activity combines horseback riding through rainforest, mangroves and historical plantation trails with zip lining at Treetop Adventure Park, a course of 12 lines plus 5 net bridges named best in the Caribbean. The ride takes 4 hours total, includes private transportation between the two sites, trained guides, safety equipment and bottled water. Children from age 7 can participate in both parts; pickup is included.
Step-by-step itinerary
Horseback riding and zip lining adventure
- Ride through rainforest and mangroves
- Explore historical trails and plantations
- Enjoy refreshing coconuts
- Drive 10 minutes to zip lining park
- Experience world-class zip lining course
- Cross net bridges and view rainforest
The Experience
The horseback portion starts on trails through the rainforest and mangroves, passing old banana plantations and historical ruins as your guide explains the area's history. You set the pace—canter, trot, or walk—and the option to swim with your horse in the Atlantic is there if you want it. Coconuts are served on every tour. A 10-minute drive then takes you to Treetop Adventure Park for the second half of the day.
The zip line course has 12 lines total, including the island's longest, highest and fastest. Five net bridges break up the lines and give you time to take in the rainforest canopy and the wildlife moving through it. Trained guides run the course, which is designed for maximum exposure to views rather than speed alone. The panoramic sightlines from the bridges are where most people linger.
Private transportation moves you between the two sites. Safety equipment, helmets and bottled water are provided. The full outing runs 4 hours. Children as young as 7 can do both activities; anyone over 240 lbs cannot participate in zip lining. The activity is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, poor cardiovascular health or significant anxiety, and a moderate fitness level is expected for the full day.

Can I ride at my own pace on the horseback part, or does the group move together?
You set your own pace on the rainforest trails—canter, trot or walk as you choose. The guide leads and explains the history of the plantations and ruins you pass, but the speed is up to you.
What is the Treetop Adventure Park zip line course actually like?
Treetop Adventure Park has 12 zip lines plus 5 net bridges suspended above the rainforest. The lines include the island's longest, highest and fastest, and the net bridges give you time to stop and look at the canopy and wildlife instead of rushing through.
How much time do I spend on horseback versus zip lining?
The horseback riding takes up the first part of the 4-hour outing, then a 10-minute drive takes you to the zip line course for the second half. Both are included in the single booking.
Is pickup from my hotel included, or do I need to get to a meeting point?
Private transportation is included, which covers pickup from your location and the drive between the horseback trails and Treetop Adventure Park.
Can my 7-year-old do both activities?
Children from age 7 can participate in both the horseback riding and the zip lining. Anyone under 7 cannot do the zip line course.
