The experience
What happens if you want to ride a horse into the ocean? On this ride, you find out. The route starts at the stables with a brief orientation on the basics, then heads out along the trail toward the coastline. Your guide pairs you with a suitable horse and checks your comfort before you ride out. The trails pass scenic spots worth a photograph, with views of country hillsides, grazing cows, and the occasional local fisherman making his daily catch.
The destination is Anse La Voute beach, where sea conditions permitting, you wade your horse into the Atlantic waters for a swim. This is where the picnic happens. You take in the scenery, eat, and if you're an experienced rider, do a gentle canter along the sand. The ride runs rain or sun, though dangerous weather will trigger a reschedule call from the operator. Bottled water, snacks and alcoholic beverages are included. You'll wear a helmet throughout.
