The day starts at the harbor in Santa Cruz de Tenerife or at your hotel, depending on where you're staying. A private guide and air-conditioned vehicle pick you up and drive toward Teide National Park, the volcanic heart of the island. Once there, you'll walk among Los Roques de García (the jagged rock formations that rise from the prehistoric crater floor), and explore the surroundings of the Teide Observatory. From the national park, the route descends to Masca Valley, a village founded by pirates in a ravine on the island's northwest coast.
