See Barcelona from the Water, Then from 500 Feet Up

You start with a boat cruise through Port Vell from the Columbus Statue, then transfer directly to a helicopter for either a 7-minute coastal flight or a 12-minute route that covers Sagrada Familia, Camp Nou, and Montjuïc. In-flight audio guides you through each landmark. The whole experience takes around two hours and includes the boat transfer and helicopter flight; bring a valid ID and confirm your flight time the day before departure.

Step-by-step itinerary

Boat cruise and helicopter flight

  • Start at Columbus Statue
  • Take boat cruise across Port Vell
  • Board helicopter at helipad
  • Fly over Barceloneta Beach
  • View Mar Bella Beach from air
  • Soar above Parc Forum and Port Forum
  • Fly over Barcelona's Old Town
  • See Sagrada Familia from sky
  • Hover above Camp Nou stadium
  • Fly over Olympic Ring and Montjuïc Park

The Experience

"You'll see things from up there you can't even imagine from down here," our pilot told us before boarding—and he wasn't wrong. The day starts at the Columbus Statue in Port Vell, where you board a boat for a short cruise across the harbor. It's not rushed; you get time to actually look at the water, the yachts, the old architecture of the port before the real event begins. Then you walk straight from the boat onto the helipad.

The helicopter flight itself comes in two lengths: the Costa Route runs 7 minutes and sticks to the coast—Barceloneta Beach, the Olympic Port, the Forum—while the Sky Route stretches to 12 minutes and pushes inland to show you the things that make Barcelona actually Barcelona. You fly over Torre Agbar, then Sagrada Familia rises up beneath you, and suddenly you understand why Gaudí's basilica matters the way it does. The spires catch the light differently from above. Camp Nou stadium appears next, then Montjuïc Castle and the Olympic Ring. The in-flight audio commentary comes through your headset, so you're not guessing what you're looking at. It's all labeled, all explained, and you can actually focus on the view instead of trying to figure out which building is which.

The whole experience—boat plus helicopter—takes a couple of hours from start to finish. You need a valid photo ID or passport to fly, and there's a weight limit of 130kg per passenger (if you're over 110kg, you'll need to book two seats). Kids have to be at least 2 years old. The flight time gets confirmed the day before, usually by 4pm, so you'll know exactly when to show up. It's the kind of tour where you're not sitting on a bus in traffic watching the same streets everyone else sees; you're actually moving through the city in a way that changes how you see it.

What’s included

  • Boat transfer through Port Vell starting at the Columbus Statue.
  • helicopter flight (either 7-minute Costa Route or 12-minute Sky Route).
  • in-flight audio commentary on the 12-minute flight.

Is this one for you?Book this if you want to see Barcelona's main landmarks—Sagrada Familia, Camp Nou, Montjuïc—without spending a full day on a bus tour; the helicopter does in 12 minutes what would take hours on the ground, and the boat start means you're not rushed from a parking lot.
