"Look, that ship’s barely squeezing through," our guide Luis said, pointing as we pressed up against the glass at the Miraflores Locks. I’d seen photos of the Panama Canal before but standing there (hearing the low groan of metal and water churning as a container ship inched forward). It felt different.
