  • Walk or cycle Causeway Amador
  • See Panama Canal Administration Building
  • Take photo with Panama Sign

The experience

The tour starts and ends around your flight times. You'll give your arrival and departure details when you book, and the operator coordinates the pickup window to match your schedule. A bilingual guide meets you and drives you in an air-conditioned vehicle through three main stops, each chosen to show a different side of Panama in the time you have.

At the Panama Canal, you watch the operations of the only canal in the Americas, more than 100 years old, and can visit the museum on-site to understand how it works. Casco Viejo, the historical district founded in 1673, is a small neighborhood of colonial buildings and houses that feels like stepping back in time. The Amador Causeway stretches nearly 6 kilometers into the Pacific Ocean from the southern entrance of the canal, built from soil and rocks excavated during the canal's construction. It's one of the best vantage points for watching large container ships enter and exit, and it connects the mainland to four small islands. You'll also stop for a photo at the iconic Panama sign and see the Panama Canal Administration Building, inaugurated in 1914.

The tour runs 4.5 hours total. A bottle of water is included, and the guide speaks both English and Spanish. Lunch and canal entry tickets are separate. Gratuities are at your discretion. Children from age 1 are welcome, and the vehicle has specialized infant seats available if you need one.

What’s included

  • A bilingual tour guide in English and Spanish.
  • air-conditioned vehicle transport.
  • one bottle of water per person.
