The experience

The tour starts with a camel ride along the Atlantic coast near the Perdicaris Forest, then moves to Cape Spartel, where you stand at the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean with the Spanish coast visible 44 km across the water. From there, the route descends into the Caves of Hercules, a limestone formation carved in the shape of Africa, before heading into the medina to explore the Petit Socco, once one of Morocco's greatest souks, now a warren of narrow streets lined with cafes, shops and craftspeople at work.

Food is woven through the day rather than bundled into one meal. You'll visit different markets to smell spices and taste Moroccan treats at several stops, then sit down for a full lunch at a local restaurant where the menu draws from Berber, Arab, Jewish and Andalusian traditions.
