The Experience

The tour starts in the medina and moves through Marrakech's layered history. Jemaa el-Fna, the main square where locals and visitors gather day and night, sets the rhythm of the city — food stalls, shops, street performers. From there, the route leads south through the Kasbah district to Bahia Palace, built in the late 19th century as the grandest palace of its era. The name means "brilliance," and the palace and its gardens show what that ambition looked like. A professional guide narrates the sites in English or French as you move between them.

The Saadian Tombs sit in the same Kasbah area, dating to the Saadian dynasty sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. Abandoned for centuries, they were rediscovered in 1917 by aerial photography and restored. The quarter around them stays quiet and authentic even as it draws visitors — traditional shops, local life continuing. You also pass Bab Agnaou, one of the city's nineteen gates, built in the 12th century during the Almohad dynasty, which gives entrance to the royal kasbah. The Koutoubia Mosque, Marrakech's largest, rounds out the stops. Three hours covers all of it without rushing.
