The experience

The high-speed train leaves Casablanca in the morning and arrives in Tangier by 10:10 AM, where your driver and guide meet you at the station with a sign bearing your name. From there, you move through the day by air-conditioned vehicle, starting with Cape Spartel's lighthouse and the panoramic views it commands across the Strait of Gibraltar and the Atlantic. The Caves of Hercules come next (the legend says this was Hercules's final destination), and the cave opens onto a beach where camel rides are available if you want them.

The medina walk begins from April 9 Square and climbs into the Old Medina, where you pass the souk that once drew Matisse, Camille Saint-Saëns and Paul Bowles. The Kasbah district sits near the port of La Kasbah, with its minaret and the museum visit included in your ticket. You'll also see the first American legation ever established outside the United States, a small building whose history and architecture the guide explains. Lunch is provided during the day, and bottled water travels with you throughout.

The tour runs seven to eight hours total, ending with the return train to Casablanca. All surfaces and areas are wheelchair accessible, and the vehicle is equipped for specialized infant seats if you need one.
