The drive itself is the first half of the experience: you move through landscape that shifts from town to scrub to desert floor, and the guide speaks English or French throughout.

At Erg Chigaga, you dismount and ride a camel across the dunes as the sun drops low, casting long shadows across the sand. Dinner is traditional Moroccan food cooked at the camp, and you sleep in a nomad tent with the sky above: no walls between you and the stars.
