The experience
The day starts with a bus ride from Budva to Kotor, where you have free time to walk the UNESCO-listed Old Town before boarding the boat. From there the route passes Perast and follows the bay's inner passages toward Our Lady of the Rocks, a small island with a working church and a history locals still tell. You'll have time to step ashore and look around, then the boat continues past Porto Novi and the old Verige fortifications toward Herceg Novi, where another stretch of free time lets you explore the town on your own pace.
Lunch arrives on board as the boat passes Mamula Island and heads toward the open sea. The afternoon splits: you can either enter the Blue Cave, where the water glows turquoise under the rock ceiling, or swim and relax at Žanjice Beach on the Budva Riviera. The boat passes the larger beaches of Jaz and Ploce on the way. The final stop is Tivat, where Porto Montenegro, a modern marina development, sits at the water's edge and gives you an hour to walk around before the bus takes you back to Budva.
An air-conditioned vehicle handles the Budva-to-Kotor leg and the return journey, so you're not managing transport between stops. The guide travels with the group and speaks English, Italian or Russian depending on the departure you book.
